You’ll notice not all makeup comes with all four sliders, but even then there is still enough to play with. Just like with skin tones, you can save your favorite swatches for later use. You can adjust the hue, opacity, saturation and brightness of your Sims’ blush, lipsticks, eyeshadows and -liners & even face paints. The other huge update to the Create a Sim menu are the sliders for makeup. The miscellaneous skincolors are mostly used for the supernatural colors, like blue and green. The warm colors will have a yellow/orange undertone, while cold have a more pink undertone.
To make it easier to differentiate different skin colors, swatches are now devided in four color-groups: warm, neutral, cold and miscellaneous. You can also delete these swatches later on. If you are happy with the skin tone you’ve created and want to keep using it in the future, you can save the color swatch by hovering over the initial color you used and press the + button. Apparently EA was feeling generous as the long-awaited skin tone update arrived a day early! More than 100 new skin tones have been added to The Sims 4 base game, and on top of that, each tone comes with a slider to customize your looks even further.
